The International Center for Human Rights (ICHR), Toronto - October 20, 2014: ICHR presented a recognition award to Arash Sobhani, Iranian singer, songwriter and director of KIOSK music group for his contributions to the human rights movement in Iran through his music.

ICHR will hold a panel discussion on Sunday June 22, 2014 at North York Civic Centre in Toronto in the anniversary of Iranian June 2009 Green Movement and July 1999 student uprising, on the country’s democracy challenges.

 The International Center for Human Rights (ICHR) announced today that Mr. Abdolfattah Soltani, Iranian imprisoned lawyer and Mr. Alex Neve, Canadian lawyer and human rights defender are the recipients of 2013 prestigious human rights award from ICHR for their human rights activities. 

According to ICHR’s decision making committee decided to, Mr. Abdolfattah Soltani and Mr. Alex Neve, have made a significant contribution to advancing and protecting human rights in Iran and middle-eastern countries. Their awards will be presented on Sunday November 24 at ICHR 2013 Award Ceremony at the Venetian Banquet Hall in Toronto.

Amnesty International Canada: Hamid Ghassemi-Shall faces imminent execution in Iran. Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Diane Ablonczy issued a joint statement asking Iran to release and halt the execution of Hamid Ghassemi-Shall.

The International Center for Human Rights - ICHR : (November 21, 2013- Toronto) Ardeshir ZareZadeh, Director of the International Center for Human Rights (ICHR), issued the following statement today after the successful adoption of a resolution on the human rights situation in Iran and Syria following a vote by the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly:

“International community, react now. Saeed must receive a fair trial!”

Sadly, as part of a political ploy initiated by the IRGC “Cyber Counterattack” team, Saeed Malekpour, a 36-year-old Canadian resident and freelance computer programmer, who has been illegally imprisoned in Iran for the past three years, is once again faced with the danger of execution. Last year, Judge Moghiseh in branch 28 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced Saeed to die based on lengthy and unfounded charges including “Insulting and desecrating the principles of Islam…”.
